GIS Data CD

Arlington County's Geographic Information System (GIS) Data is available on CD ROM, which is published annually in May or June.  The data are stored in the current version of ESRI’s Personal Geodatabase, in NAD83 Virginia State Plane North projection.  The geographic data for Real Estate properties reflects changes that were recorded through December 31 of the previous year. Other geographic layers may reflect more recent changes, if any occurred.  Annual Real Estate Assessment (tabular) data is included on this CD as a courtesy, and is provided by the Department of Real Estate Assessments (DREA).  Please note that the GIS data is copyrighted, and Arlington County retains all rights to the data. You may use it as an acknowledged source to produce maps or analysis but you may not redistribute, resell, or copy the data (except for back-up purposes).

Requirements for the 2011 Data CD:   ArcGIS 10.0 .  The software is available from Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.   Previous versions (Arcview 3.2, ArGIS 8.x and 9.x) can not read this data format.  Please contact ESRI if you have outdated software.  Please note that due to resource limitations Arlington County is limited to providing data in the version it is maintained, and regretfully is unable to accommodate requests for other formats.  The 2011 Data CD will be available in May 2011, and will be provided in ESRI’s Personal Geodatabase version 10.

The cost of the CD is $125.00. The CD can be purchased at the Customer Service Counter in suite 800 , 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA., Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.  The customer service counter closes every third Thursday of the month at 1:00 PM. This cost does not cover mailing charges*.
